Taste of Turkey
If you’re looking for a low-cost holiday destination with plenty of things to see and do for the whole family, why not consider Turkey?
It’s a cracking spot for holidaymakers from all walks of life. From beach-lovers to clubbers, families to romantic couples, culture vultures to the young at heart, Turkey holidays have so much to offer.
If you’re after a beach holiday with the family, check out the beautiful resort of Olu Deniz in the Dalaman region or historical Side in Antalya. Turkey is well known for its fabulous beaches along the Mediterranean Sea, and there are some fantastic resorts with great family-friendly hotels offering all the essentials like all-inclusive kids’ clubs, crèche facilities and pools.
While there’s not much of a beach in the town of Bodrum, it’s located close to a number of other beach resorts, plus it hsa stacks of great things to see and do. There’s a 15th century castle dating back to the days of the crusades, which towers over Bodrum from its lofty position high atop a rocky outcrop.
Inside you can explore its ancient walls and twisting staircases, and wander into the superb Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology, based inside the castle. Here you’ll find incredible treasures that are hundreds, even thousands of years old, most of which were found on the seabed from ancient wrecked ships.
For holidaymakers on a budget, you’ll find plenty of cheap Turkey holidays along the Mediterranean coast. Many holidays to this part of the world are organized by UK-based tour operators which can negotiate great deals for tourists, and the cost of living in Turkey is considered relatively affordable by U.S. standards.
Whatever style of holiday you’re after, whether it’s a low-cost family escape or a historical voyage of discovery, you’ll find it all in Turkey.
