Minus 33 Ossipee Women’s Midweight Wool Crew Review

When I camp, I get cold. There’s almost no way around it. When I fall asleep, my body temperature drops at least 10 degrees (my best guestimate, of course), and it has been this way ever since I was a little girl falling asleep in the back seat of the car. As soon as I would drift off, I’d wake up chilled and searching for cover. So when I was offered a chance to review the Minus 33 Ossipee Women’s Midweight Wool Crew (now that’s a mouthful), I thought, why the heck not?Ossipee Women's Midweight Wool Crew Review

First, some more background. I used to camp with a 30-degree bag, but I was frequently cold at temps lower than 50. I recently got a 0-degree bag which I love, but I realized in Alaska that I woke up cold a few nights that were in the 40’s, despite having many layers on.

Last weekend, I went camping at Strawberry Lake for four nights, and I tried my new wool crew and bottoms each night. I admit that camping in the middle of August isn’t the best opportunity to test out a product in the cold, but temperatures were dropping into the low 40s each night, and I remained warm. I did sleep with an extra layer on top, but that’s far less material than my usual two on the bottom, five on top and a hat. So, I think it’s fair to say that the Minus 33 wool crew was a success.
