Some of my favorite photos from villages in northern India. Some of my best memories are of conversations I had with these folks, with body language and facial expressions.

These little kiddos followed me around begging for candy. I’m pretty sure the one in the yellow still has my red bangle; it was about five sizes too big for her tiny arm.

The sheep trough got plugged up with mud, so he had to clean it out while the thirsty sheep waiting impatiently.
Have you ever traveled to the local villages of a foreign country? What was your experience like?

Amazing photos…I love the one of the girl!
Thanks! She was so sweet and shy. Just beautiful.
Some really great shots you have here. I especially like the man smiling on the ladder and the baby on the cot, that last one is so colorful.

Beautiful photos of rural India. This isn’t often a side we see when people write about India, so thank you for sharing!

Thanks, Frank! It was.
Awesome and beautiful pictures! How long did you stay in the village? I have always wanted to stay in a rural village and absorb the culture
Thanks, Mathew! These are from several villages that I passed through while on a camel trek, and one special one I wandered to in hopes of finding a toilet during an 8-hour camel festival in the hot desert with no bathrooms! I ended up finding a tree, and having chai with the sweet family who called the tree their bathroom. It was a fabulous experience! Thanks so much for your comments.
