8 Reasons You Will Love Universal Orlando in Florida, USA

Universal Orlando is so much more than just another Orlando theme park. Since opening in 1990, the park has gone from a single park to multiple parks, hotels and an entertainment complex. It’s filled with the most technologically advanced rides, mouthwatering foods, themed lands, a water park and so much more. If you haven’t visited Universal Orlando lately, here are eight reasons why you will absolutely love it:

1. There’s something for everyone

Whether you’re traveling solo, with a partner or with a toddler or teen, Universal Orlando has a ride for everybody. Younger kiddos will love playing in Seuss Landing, becoming a minion on Despicable Me Minion Mayhem, and phoning home with E.T., while the older kids (and kids at heart) can get their adrenaline fix on thrill rides and attractions such as Revenge of the Mummy, the Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket coaster, Skull Island: Reign of Kong, the Simpsons ride and many more.

2. Exciting character meet and greets

Just as thrilling as the rides are Universal’s character meet and greets. Families can snap photos with popular film characters including superheroes Captain America and Spiderman as well as characters more suited for smaller kids like Scooby Doo and the Minions. Characters are often seen roaming the park or you can check the meet and greet schedule to see when your favorite character will be posing for photos.

3. Discover the magic of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Speaking of Harry Potter, fans of the book and film franchise can immerse themselves in the story with a stop at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at both Universal Orlando parks. It is impossible to explain just how amazing this area of the park is. From the recreation of Hogwarts Castle and Hogwarts Express to the thrill rides and shows created to make you feel like are a part of the story, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is a must-visit. Step inside Hogwarts Castle and get everything you need for witchcraft and wizardry at Hogsmeade inside Islands of Adventure. Meanwhile, at Universal Studios wander the streets of Diagon Alley and enjoy some pub fare at the Leaky Cauldron, take the Hogwarts Express over to Hogsmeade and even take an adventure through the underground bank vaults at Gringotts on Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts.

4. Incredible themed-dining options

Universal Orlando takes its theming very seriously. So seriously in fact it overflows into the parks’ many restaurants and quick-service counters. If you’re checking out Springfield U.S.A., the home of the Simpsons, make sure to eat like Homer, Marge, Bart and Lisa with a Krusty Burger or the Flaming Moe at Moe’s Tavern. Sink your teeth into one of those hopping Chocolate Frogs from Harry Potter or sip on a few different varieties of Butterbeer at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. For an award-winning meal try the Mediterranean-themed Mythos. Universal CityWalk also boasts several unique restaurants like the mouthwatering Toothsome Chocolate Emporium and Cowfish, the restaurant that pairs burgers with sushi.

5. Splash in to Universal’s Volcano Bay

Universal’s third park is the tropical getaway called Universal’s Volcano Bay. Just like the rest of Universal’s areas and lands, the theming at Volcano Bay is incredible. The brand-new water theme park takes guests inside the Pacific Isle of the fabled Waturi islanders where families can enjoy sandy beaches for relaxation, thrill rides like the Ko’okiri Body Plunge, the three-story water playground Runamukka Reef and a giant volcano that sits in the center of it all.

6. Relax at on-site resorts

The fun doesn’t end when you leave the park. In fact, it’s just beginning at Universal’s five on-site hotels where you can fully relax or take advantage of the many amenities. From family suites to lagoon-style pools, lazy rivers and bowling alleys there are plenty of ways to keep the fun going long after (or before) you leave (or arrive) at Universal Orlando.

7. You can walk everywhere

Nothing is too far away you can’t walk at Universal Orlando Resort. Whether you’re going from your hotel to the parks or CityWalk to your hotel it’s all just a stroll away. And if anyone is the group is done walking for the day there are also shuttle and water taxi options from the parks to the hotels. Either way you’ll get to where you’re going in no time, which is the ideal amount of time when you’d rather be chasing the fun.

8. Explore Universal’s CityWalk

Universal CityWalk has been completely reinvented in recent years, with all new experiences being added, many of which are family-friendly. CityWalk is perhaps best known for adult fun, but there’s plenty to do fur the kids and children-at-heart as well!
